This is another poem on the "inner dialogue"
the mental chatter that goes on every day, every minute, without
you even being aware of it. In your mind, you make excuses for your
shortcomings or blame others for the things you have not accomplished,
or the opportunities you have missed. The point is, the only person
you can hold accountable is yourself. Take control of the mental
dialogue and change it to achieve positive results. Turn "I
could" into "I can"!
Dreams can be powerful motivators, yet when they
are not translated into action, they remain mere wishful thinking.
That is why we look up to the great dreamer-doers who have revolutionised
our world.
They believe that "If you can dream it, you can do it!"
I could be a lot better than what
I am now
I could do a lot of things, if I only would, somehow
But thoughts are like chatter, they scatter here and there
I dream an idle dream
And like a puff of smoke,
I watch it float by.
Refrain:
"I'm restrained by restrictions" -
Name one that you can't change
"I'm restrained by circumstances"
There are few you haven't made
"I'm restrained by limitations"
go find another excuse
"I'm restrained by myself"
Ah now ---- you hit the nail on the head.
Why dream away your life, when you
can live it?
Why dream an idle dream - just activate it!
Only you have the power to make it come to pass
Or watch it come to you, and look you in the eye
And pass you by. (refrain)
