Sometimes
you feel you're in a bind... when there seems to be no way out of
a situation
that you'd rather not be in. Maybe it's a job, maybe it's a relationship
or a difficult life situation.
Expressing your feelings often gets you started on a new track
towards solving the problem, clarifying the core issues and giving
you a new perspective.
That's what happened when I wrote this poem/song
called "Stuck in the middle". I wrote what I felt and
soon got "unstuck"
- got a better job and felt a lot better about myself too!
Stuck in the middle, stuck in the middle
Don't wanna be stuck in the middle
Guess it's a riddle why I'm stuck in the middle
Gotta get out of here!
Running on a treadmill, running so fast
Running fast, but I'm standing still
Running ahead to stay in the same place
Going nowhere at all.
I've got to cut loose from the sandwich trap
Don't wanna take anymore of this crap
I wanna spread my wings and fly
I wanna fly up to the sky
But I'm stuck in the middle, stuck in the middle
Don't wanna be stuck in the middle
Guess it's a riddle why I'm stuck in the middle
Gotta get out of here!
Seems I really don't have any convictions
Don't know what I want to do
I don't know where I want to go
I don't know what I want to be
But I know I don't wanna be stuck in the middle,
Don't wanna be stuck in the middle
Guess it's a riddle why I'm stuck in the middle,
Gotta get out of here!
Problems all around me,
Can't get over them,
Can't get under them,
Can't get around them,.
Got to get away from them,
Far away from them,
And make a brand new start.
I've got to pull out from the quicksand pit
Before I sink really deep into it
I've got to hitch my wagon to a star
And then my dreams will take me far
'Cause I'll no longer be stuck in the middle, stuck
in the middle,
I'll no longer be stuck in the middle,
It won't be a riddle why I'm stuck in the middle,
'Cause I'll be way out of here!
