Listen to a bunch of people talking on a grey,
cloudy day. Chances are, their conversation would centre around
problems at work, difficulties of commuting in heavy traffic,
fights at home and other less than inspiring topics. Think of the
positive side of life
and your whole attitude changes. Children are our best teachers,
they take life as it comes, and they laugh a lot along the way.
Life isn't the way that we paint it,
Dreary and dull and grey
It's sunshine and laughter and music
And birdsong along the way.
It's the soft rosy glow of the sunrise,
A rainbow seen through the pain,
Or tender young leaves on the treetops
Or a carpet of green in the rain.
It's the chatter of little children,
The innocence in their eyes,
It's the charm of their smiles and their laughter,
The candour that never lies.
It's people so thoughtful and caring,
They teach you in little ways,
It's friends who are warm and sharing
You learn from them every day.
It's a book that makes you chuckle
Or makes you stop and think,
It's ideas and thoughts and feelings
That make you dare to dream.
Live isn't the way that we paint it,
Gloomy and dull and grey
It's brightness and light and colour,
It's we who paint in the grey.
